    Overview

There are two types of photography roles at Camp IHC. The first role is called Camper Media and involves teaching the campers how to use cameras to capture still and moving images. The second photography role is more behind the scenes. This role involves running around camp each day and taking hundreds/thousands of daily images of camp life.

Studio 18 Manifesto

A motivational manifesto for Studio 18, emphasizing dedication, creativity, courage, and exploration, with sections titled 'Our Purpose,' 'Our Mission,' and 'Our Vision.'

Born in 2018, Studio 18 started as a name of a room, but it quickly became the official name of our in-house summer camp content production team. Over time the culture of the team became more refined and the Studio 18 Manifesto was born. Studio 18 wanted to change the very definition of what summer camp media content could and should be. When team members come onboard they are bought into the Studio 18 purpose, mission and vision from the get go. We are truly obsessive about pushing the boundaries of summer camp media. This helps set us apart from any other business in our industry. We do not aim to compete, we are simply on an infinite pursuit to create better content than the summer before, and it’s 100% born from nothing but passion and our pathetic love of summer camp.

We use a facial recognition software, so every photo we take of a camper gets sent via the software to parents and families of that camper so they can see what they got up to that day!

Photographs are captured in RAW and then edited on iMacs and Adobe Creative Cloud.

  • A basic understanding of DSLR & Mirrorless cameras is essential. You will need to understand ISO, aperture and shutter speeds and how they work together to produce beautiful photographs.

An understanding of Adobe Lightroom is also beneficial as all photographs are shot in RAW and edited in post-production.

Most importantly you will need passion for photography and self-motivation to keep finding new ways to get creative.

  • At Camp IHC our photography is on quite an extensive level. We upload around 75,000 edited photographs each summer to a facial recognition photo software. As a photography team you will look to upload around 1500-2000 high quality photographers each day. This is about 300 - 500 edited photographs per photographer.
