Frequently asked questions
What does the application process look like?
Once you have found your dream summer camp job, start an application via this website. You will fill out a short form and submit it to our hiring team.
We will then reach out to you to arrange a time to connect with Zoom. We’ll talk to you about camp, the role, you, us and help answer any questions you have!
Following on from that call, we will send you a link to start an official application form.
Do you hire international staff?
Yes! We hire staff from all around the world, we think it’s important for campers (and staff!) to experience a wide range of diversity & culture. We use international agencies to help us with all the visa paperwork & flights.
If you’re an international staff member thinking about applying then fill out our application and we’ll help you find the right agency.
What age do you have to be to apply?
If you are 18+ years or older you are eligible to apply to work at Camp IHC!
Do we get any days off?
Yes. We give all staff a day and night off at camp each week. You’ll work 6 days a week. On your day/night off, you can leave camp and enjoy spending time in the surrounding areas.
Are you technology free?
Staff are not allowed to carry phones on them during working hours. We have an incredible staff lounge with lock boxes to store valuables. You can use your phone during your time-off but we ask that you don’t carry it around camp with you. Our campers are not allowed to bring connected technology like phones, smart watches etc, we encourage a different kind of connection!
How many campers are in a typical bunk?
There are nine different age groups on camp, we call these divisions. Each division might have between 30 - 60 campers, These will be broken down into different bunks. Each bunk will have roughly 3-6 staff members and anywhere between 8-24 campers.
What months are camp?
Our 7 week camp experience happens between mid-June and mid-August. The campers arrive, spend 7 incredible weeks then leave until the next year! Staff typically arrive two weeks before the campers to go through a staff orientation. So if you’re available in June, July & August then get in touch!
Are you a co-ed camp?
Yes, we’re a co-ed experience.
