Nannying at Summer Camp

Nannying at camp is a niche role. As a nanny you will look after the younger children of full-time employees who aren’t quite old enough to be campers yet! You will have more one to one time with a child as opposed to being in a bunk full of children. You will create an unbelievable bond with your child over the summer.

Each day you and other nannies will spend time with your children and organize fun, age-appropriate level activities for them to stay engaged!

Why Nanny at Summer Camp

Camp IHC is a playground of adventure for young children. Every day you will get to spend time with children in a safe and nurturing environment.

You will be a role model to your child and make a positive impact in their live, on top of that you will be paid to do what you truly love.

As a nanny you will also have plenty of opportunities to spend time with other camp staff.  You will have the same days off, free evenings to hang out, along with time during the day to explore camp and join in where you can!

FAQs

  • The camp nanny’s day often starts early as they are caring for younger children.  This can often be getting the “littles” up and dressed, then fed breakfast.  The day will then continue with morning activities, lunch, rest,  pool or beach, afternoon activities, and then on to dinner.  Depending on the role of the camp parents, care might also require some bath and bedtime routines.

  • Typically it will be one to one supervision. In the past more experienced nannies have sometimes responsible for two children.

  • Qualifications are an added bonus but not always required. We are looking for people who are passionate about looking after children and our looking to gain further child care experience.

  • Our camp season runs from mid-June to mid-August. For this position you would need to be available for this period.

  • No. The ‘Nanny Squad’ do not live with campers. You will live together in a staff bunk.

If you are interested in working with children then please reach out to us to discuss other opportunities!

  • Yes. You will have one full day and night off each week. This is your chance to rest, recover and try some new things on camp and explore new places off camp with other staff.
